Baby House Korea

I have been looking for baby slings/ carriers since my baby was born...but couldn't find the one that she loves. I started with a ring sling and at first my daughter loved it. That was when she was still a newborn. Within a month, she started to fuss and cry...then I tried a sling like the one you'd find on http://www.slinglings.com/...she couldn't stand it either; though she sleeps in it every night...on our bed. Then my aunt sent me a Moby wrap...and my baby liked that...the only problem is when it gets too hot, she cries. So I browsed the net for other baby carriers and researched about baby wearing. I saw the Ergobaby, most of the reviews were great but I couldn't get my hands on one here in the Philippines...and if I ordered from the US the shipping fee is as high as the price of the item...so I searched more and found a similar (or almost similar) baby carrier from Babyhouse.co.kr.

They have a lot of designs, printed with cute characters, patterns, animal prints, polka dots, stripes...etc.... but I settled for this cream colored carrier...because I love things when they are simple. Surprisingly....my baby loves this carrier. She was all smiles when I first used it on her. Now she gets excited every time I take her for a walk in this baby carrier. I found the seller through ebay.ph. All items are brand new...and costs 70% less than the baby ergo. The only issue that bothered me is that I got my item after almost two months. I thought it was a problem with the seller...but I found out that the item has been here all along and was stuck in customs. Bad work here in the country. Anyway, I refuse to think about the bad vibes that transpired because now my daughter enjoys being on her carrier :) which makes it easier for me :D

This is how happy she is when being worn with this Babyhouse carrier:

If you're a mom and looking for a good buy (not as expensive as the Ergo) I suggest that you buy this. Happy Holidays :D

Hi, I found your this blog entry when I was searching for reviews on the baby house ergo carrier. I was just curious, now that you've had it for a little while, do you still love it? I would LOVE to have an Ergo carrier, but, like you, I'm not so excited about shelling out an arm and a leg for a carrier, but I'm also a little skeptical of the baby house carrier just because I can't find any reviews on it. So, thus my question, do you still love it? Thank you for any response you give. :)

I still love it. I have been using it for four months now...and my baby still loves it too :) even if she's getting heavier, the carrier still helps lessen the strain on the back :) I hope my input helps you :) thank you for reading this entry.

What is the weight limit for the baby, the material and washing instructions? This looks like a good option but I can't find more information. The Korean website is forbidden when I go there and I'm in the U.S.

hi, indeed seems like a good option but i am curious of the weight limit for the baby and the material and most importantly if waist band is big enough for daddy's waist and larger moms.
Thanks, Klondiker

I was looking at these Babyhouse carriers on eBay and having a hard time finding any reviews about or information on them. They looked comfy and cute, and the price is great but also a potential "red flag" as far as quality/safety, so I was hesitant. Between the reviews on the seller's page and this blog entry, I'm feeling confident in trying one out. I hope I have as good of an experience as you seem to have had. Would like a follow up from you.

Also, to everyone asking, the weight limit listed is up to 40 lbs.

FYI: I did end up purchasing one off of ebay, and I LOVE IT!!! I take my 3 yr old and my 17 month old to the zoo quite often by myself. My 3 year old loves to just run and my 17 month old HATES being in the stroller because he can't see the animals. This has been a GREAT solution for us. I can chase my 3 yr old much easier from animal to animal and my 17 month is PERFECTLY content to just ride on my back. We go for several hours at a time, and it's quite comfortable to carry my 26 lb 17 month old (and I'll admit, sometimes we swap and let the 17 month old run and my 3 yr old goes on my back) for the entire time. I'm SO glad that I got it! I really wanted an ergobaby, but we're on a very tight budget right now and this has been a lifesaver/sanity-saver!!!

@ Laura Bloomfield, your post made me even more excited that I'm purchasing one, more reassurance that it will be a good quality buy :) Thanks again for this blog post JOE, obviously there were several mom's who needed to see it ;) I'll come back and add my critique once I get it as well (for the next person who goes hunting for reviews of the babyhouse carrier). <3

Found this site via google as well.. Just wanted to add that I also LOVE my Babyhouse carrier! At half the price of an Ergo or Beco (that friends recommended), I was able to get the Babyhouse and 2 cheaper carriers at a consignment sale as well and still spent less than the $130 Ergo price tag.

I bought one too and I love it too even though I hear it's a knock off of the Pognae. I hear that that Pognae USA doesn't come with the sleeping hood. The difference is that the Pognae has the reinforced boxed stitching where the shoulder straps meet the carrier. Babyhouse has straight stitching but everywhere else, it has the reinforced box stitching like on the waist and the shoulder straps themselves. I feel like my now 20lb baby is secure and likes being in the carrier. I haven't tried the Pognae but I have Ergobaby and I absolutely recommend Babyhouse. I hear it's a 45lb weight limit, came with a attachable pouch, laundry mesh bag, attachable neck support and the buckles say WJ DURAFLEX and WOO JIN FLEX STEALTH 50mm PAT. I also scanned the labels if you want to see it but it's mostly technical guidelines according to my cousin who translated it for me. I should have asked family to get it for me while they were in Korea since it's like $15 but I bought mine on Ebay and it was still a great deal compared to ErgoBaby.

Also, I love the cooling mesh vent. Good for airing out a sweaty baby or stinky baby farts. Nevermind on Pognae's sleeping hood. Looks like they've just added it.

Hi! Thank you for posting this review! Based on your review and comments here I purchased this baby carrier and I LOVE it! We are having pretty tight budget (me and my husband are both studying and we have three kids) so we weren't able to invest on Ergo or any other "famous" baby carrier. So I started digging the Internet and found your blog and decided to give this carrier a try. I bought the luxury slim type and my 1 yo baby girl loves to travel in it. Greetings from Finland! :)

Hi, do you know what positions are available on this carrier? Can you carry the baby facing out?

Sandra said...

Like Ergobaby brand, it's intended for the baby to facing the parent where you wear your baby in the front or back. My husband did put my baby in the back facing out for a little while just to be funny. My baby is now 1 years old and we both still love it.

Update: Pognae USA comes with a sleeping hood now.
